Ring-shaped magnetic variation in the bedrock north of Särna, Sweden.
The special equipment installed on board consists mainly of three different types of sensors connected to measurement equipment. The following variables are measured:
The Magnetic Total Field is measured using a Scintrex CS-2 sensor, every 7 meter along the path.
The Gamma Radiation is measured using a Gamma Spectrometer and two Sodium Iodine crystals. The measuring points are located every 64 meters along the path.
Electromagnetic field (VLF) is measured with a three-axis sensor that is placed on a protruding boom, at the rear end of the aircraft. These measurements are taken every 32 meters along the path.
